Putin sees more problems than solutions in public utilities

MOSCOW, Dec 14 (PRIME) – There are more problems than solutions in Russian public utilities, President Vladimir Putin said during an annual press conference on Thursday.

“I think that both the regional authorities and the federal bodies responsible for this… are clearly not doing enough,” Putin said.

He said that the key issue is payment for public utilities by managing companies collecting people’s payments and controlling money flows.

“A managing company collects payments for everything and then pays, including to resource organizations. And they do not always pay timely and fully. And few people overlook this. What can we do in this respect? We need to cut these managing companies off cash flows… We must do so as soon as we can,” Putin said.
